Pine ID (from Bonsai South)

I'll ask next time I'm at the Bonsai South nursery, but to save the trouble can anyone identify this pine?

It was in a plastic nursery pot with the other pines. Definitely not a Scots Pine as they were grouped next to this (and looked noticeably different).

The needles are split around 50/50 for sets of 2 and 3. Most 3s are near the bottom of each candle cluster.

Cheers

I'd definitely put my vote toward it being a red pine
Its a little hard to see, but it looks as though the bark is starting to get a bit flaky and orangeish toward the base too?

It does look a bit like red pine but red pine should be 2 needle so not sure what's going on with the 3s.
Best to go back and ask.

In person the trunk doesn't look reddish at all. Possibly just the lighting of the photo.

I've been suggested that it could be a pinus radiata (Monterey Pine). Thoughts on that?

If it's a 3 needle pine it may be bungeana. Looks very similar to mine.
They have a smooth exfoliating bark.
