I made a new bench ,stand , work table . It’s built for my environment so it shouldn’t blow away , it’s concreted into the ground just in case . it’s just below chest high which I find comfortable to work on a tree because of my crook back .

Looks good Sno. I'm also working on a new work bench these holidays.

Must be the season for new work benches. I got one too

Great view, was a fantastic place to work on a tree!

The view is actually better in life ,you can see right down the valley through the trees , in a photo all you see is gum trees . Not that that is a bad thing .

Hi Kirky (took those cuttings today ) , the tree is a Baekea imbricata which is in flower at the moment . I was trying to to take photos from the stand but there is too much background ‘noise ‘ to show the tree . It doesn’t back bud on old wood for me . So this is its new style .

That's a sweet little tree. It has a very nice sinuous, flowing trunk line. Thanks for posting that, it's made me think about the way I (try to) style my trees, realizing that sometimes less is more.

Now that is a good quality table and a good view to boot. Well done Craig. Something satisfying about trees that don't back bud ,they have a bit more control of there own destinies. Maybe time for me to go to bed. Cheers John.

I really like the Baekea imbricata will have to be on the look out for one. I like when some of the natives don’t bud back makes you appreciate the bark and movement more

And a lovely tree to work with.

I have 2 Baeckea imbricata I'm growing. They are one of the best sources of material for native bonsai. Stunning. I find them very forgiving and respond well to pruning.

I have a small one growing in the natural style comp, and another I am growing as slightly larger material.

The foliage is small and the flowering is adorable, especially how each flower is tucked in between a leaf. And the squarish new growth on the ends of the branches is ever so cute.

Mine shoot back all down the trunk after a cutback, but they aren't thicker than 1cm at the base at the moment.
