Gordonia anyone?

There are a couple of Fried Egg trees, Gordonia axillaris (now Franklinia axillaris), in my neighbourhood and I was wondering if they would make good bonsai material. Their trunks are lovely, a little like Crepe Myrtle and the leaves not too big (hopefully they would reduce). Has anyone tried these as bonsai?
