I have been asking around and have yet to get any response as to what this white spotting inside the Squamata is.
The tree does not have spider mite or root rot and like others in our collection has been sprayed .
I chopped of the top 20 cm as it had died down to this level. The rest at this stage is still green with new growth showing.
I know these guys can slowly die totally , but was hoping for an answer anyway.
At present I have left it soaking in seasol .
The tree has never been wired .

A bit hard to see the overall issue and any outside influences from those 2 pictures joannm.
I assume the dead looking bit is the part you cut off? and the wounded part is where you chopped back to healthy wood?

The white spots I can see appear to be in the bark so should not affect the living tree as outer bark is dead tissue anyway.

Given the little info I don't have any good answers for you either.

Yes it is very strange and you are correct it is inside the bark not on the outer side of it though.
The rest of the branches have new growth on them , but I feel I need to cut back further to see if this is going on inside them as well.
Or should I take a chance and leave the rest to see if it continues to die ?
