I have a Natal Fig that is growing REALLY strong. I styled and potted it in Septemper and it's going great. Gotta fix one of the roots though.
But it's going really well. It's a good tree =) I might try and get a couple more actually.
Going to totally defoliate it on Saturday =)

for sure, i'll try and get some better photos...

i can see you are going for root over rock with this one, if you can get the roots closer to the rock it wont take any where near as long to get them to cling to it, i think you will have to work something out for the main trunk with it being so straight from what i can see, once you get the roots closer, bury it and then feed like crazy, after a while pull it up to see whats going on, retie where necessary, and then bury again, you should be able to get this clinging to that rock in a few years

yea, i know. the rootball sits quite well in a little crevis just can't really see it from the photo, but i nkow i need to get those other roots down onto the rock, but they're really stiff and i can't seem to get it close enough without really forcing it and possibly breaking it off. just keep trying every couple months to bend it a bit further and tie harder with string... hopefully.

looking good mate, i know you have wrapped it in plastic but i would be considering about putting soil or a medium over the top of that aswell, when the roots are exposed to air they stop thickening and start hardening off, from what i know, it slows them down quite a fair amount.

other than that it looks like you have covered everything well, being a fig i would presume it to be quite strong, depending on where ya are and you could expect them to be clinging to the rock in a reasonably short time

maybe just put a medium over the top. really want to leave it above ground to see what's going on...

New roots are popping all over the place! they're just hitting the clear wrap and heading straight down!
