reckon it's nearly time to bin most of my chinese elms - two good seasons of growth and development - nice healthy lush plants then for no obvious reason a couple major branches on each just up and die - getting a bit sick of the re working and having no longevity - tried a few different things but I reckon it's about that time - and spend more time on some more forgiving stock - any body else have this problem.

Photos please . It’s very had to work out what’s happening with out more info . I get die back occasionally coming out of winter and I used to think it was frost damage . Now I think it is not keeping the water up to them enough during winter when they are dormant .

thanks sno - actually that does make sense - the cold weather can be worse than hot for lack of water

have removed the dead branches and repotted in larger grow pots - with the branches removed it looks like I'm going for literati style :lost:

Would also love to see some photos. I’m in SEQ and never had any die back apart from maybe the off thin branch. Maybe I’ve just been lucky
