Heading to the NBPCA

I'm not a member of a local club, which means although I do attend the shows/exhibitions of the clubs around me, I never put my own trees on display for the public. With this in mind, a couple of months back I had the notion to look into donating trees to the NBPCA for loan display, so I contacted Leigh who gave me some direction on what was required and the process involved. I followed through with my notion and put 3 trees to the NBPCA committee for consideration, and today I received an email to let me know all 3 received a vote to be accepted as loan submissions.
I was very happy and humbled to hear all 3 were given the green light to be a part of the national collection. They will be heading up north in the not too distant future and be in residence there over the next 2 years, so if you happen to head to the National Arboretum, be sure to check out the NBPCA and say hi to my trees for me!
Here are the 3 I put forward, probably quite familiar to a few of you here...

Mmm… not sure about that Watto, I’m thinking about doing the road trip to deliver so it depends on what I can juggle in terms of dates, I’ll keep you posted!

Fantastic achievement Ryan, both your ericifolias i find super impressive not only for the short timespan but the balance of your own personal artistic flair that identify a Ryan tree immediately, and maintaining the mature look you've achieved :worship:

A huge congratulations!!!

Wait, is this just free bonsai-sitting for 2 years so you can go travel the world in freedom? Haha, kidding.

I'll be there in January at the latest, so will be sure to drop by then and say 'hi".

Congrats mate, and well deserved. :tu:

Just a shame I didn't get to see them when I was there recently!

The pine was still OK, but the mels had become pretty overgrown since the submission photos (above) were taken in April.
I spent a few hours over the last couple of days trimming them back and wiring to get them how I like them before they head off.
Sorry Watto, not likely to be there this month, hopefully in July some time.
