Hey guys,
I've only had this one for 5-6 months. It has been growing very well and has popped out new branches and foliage everywhere.
Not really sure what to with it. I know it will likely need to eb reduced quite alot.
Any thoughts/ideas welcome :)

what do you see in this tree mate ??? where do you want to go with it? or where do you think the tree wants to go??? these are some things to think about before styling a tree.

just because it is leaning over the pot does that mean it needs to cascade?? not necessarily? right??

look at all angles :D

I defiantely don't have cascade in mind for this one. I originally bought it for it's intersting movement, however it is not thick enough, so I let it go crazy. It's developing a fair amount of growth down low, so I would probably chop it and have a mame. but the kink in te trunk down low is quite sever.e

nothing a bit of wire wont fix, looks like its bout pencil thick, if it was me.... ;) i would be twisting the sh#@ out of it

then grow out, plenty of dynamic lifter and sun and get it booming, keep the branches low and thicken the trunk, use them as sacrifice branches.
then use the shimpaku yamadori style (twisted style) techniques to work it into an informal upright, this will give ya some great movement and interesting deadwood :D

just dont twist so hard that ya tear the cambium layer off, it will kill the tree quick smart.

just my idea on it :D

Thanks guys.. I've actually been wanting to cmpress/twist a few, liek we've spoken about Jamie, but for some reason I didn't even think of it for this one.... I feel so dumb! Haha
Well that's that sroted, now I just need to work out the twisting/bending of it....
Thanks again guys, gave my brain a kickstart ^_^

So far I've jsut been letting it grow :P
But it's definitely a candidate for twisting/compressing ;)
