Krittas,
Bougies are pretty hardy, i have just heavily pruned mine and will root prune this month as well.
Dont over water as they like it more dry than others, i fertilize during the growing season with Charlie carp.

I have a couple of small ones in development, 1 from a cutting; they seem to only like root work in the summer - is that your experience? - I've lost a couple from transplantshock when it is cold

Gordon, because they are tropical January i find is the best month to root prune and defoliate.

I have several in large ornamental pots out in full sun and they are doing fine. I water when they start to sag on the ends
I have lots of cuttings on my benches in Dappled shade. Watered daily with the other trees.

Bougs must be exceptionally hardy as they grow from Cairns all the way down to Tasmania! Saw several in flower while there over Christmas.
