Nice tree mate - did you start this one? It looks similar to an Ian Hearn tree I remember, from memory he sold it to Leong. I have a few of this species, with the pink and white flowers also. They were from stock I got from Ian Hearn.

I agree - Ian is a brilliant stylist.

All i know is its a Satsuki, it gets white, pink and white with pink flowers.

I havent heard of Ian, who is he?

He is a Satsuki specialist - also brilliant at Japanese. Black Pine. He was propagating a dozen or so varieties down near the snowies in NSW. He has been at it for around 40 years - not well known - but a brilliant artist. He moved from his location near the snowies and sold pretty much every azalea he had - Leong got most of them.

So IS2SXC - Leong might be your man - I am sure he will have some left!

I think all of Leongs are fully worked Bonsai, not stock material but you can ask
Leigh is Ian still selling pines?

He wont sell me any - I think he is down to his "favourites" - but, you never know - he might get to a point where he wants to reduce his collection again. Probably not for a while - he drastically reduced his collection a couple of years ago when he moved.

lol i offered to buy the cascade 2 years ago but it wasnt for sale. then it was for sale with the one i now own.
