Hi guys
Ive got some roots growing on an acer and tea tree
what do I do now..
do i cut it off the main branch, reduce leaves, and plant in a pot?
is it that simple......
or is there another step that I need to attend too....first?
thanks guys

I took off 2 layers last week
Cut them off and trimmed the protruding stem.
Spread the roots a little if they can , but ensure you do not break them ( this can wait till next repot ).
Pot them up, trim any excess foliage and plonk them on the bench to recover. ( no direct sun and good care).
Feed in about 6 weeks after showing signs of new growth

how do I know (or judge) that theres enough roots available on the air layering to support the stump that I cut off...

also
should I expect die back when repotted?
or is that a bad sign of unhealthy tree?

I wait till i can readily identify a few different roots, and when they start wrap around the inside of the plastic.
Only would get dieback if the roots cannot support the amount of foliage. the 2 I did recently have not died off at all

the more roots you have in there to support the tree the better of you will be! the advice you have been given is good
good luck mate
