Picked this book up a while ago. It's name is Saikei: Living Landscapes in Miniature by Toshio Kawamoto. Interesting little book written when Saikei was a brand new art form back in 1967.

Anyone else have this book? I saw this book at the Koreshoff nursery a number of years ago and Dorothy told me that it was very rare.

No, and have not heard of it either. I'll bet it is an interesting read though.

Yes I have it as you say mate very interesting read and insight to Saikei. Mrs Pup claimed it.
I actually bought mine from the Local Library when they were having a book sale.
It is a first edtion 1967.

Me too. Mine is a seventh printing, 1975. I like the Tokyo weather chart page. A useful tool for the serious player.

Yes Lindsay it won an argument for me with a ( garden Magazine ) writer here in the West many years ago.
He stated in the article the biggest killer of Bonsai and I quote ( the biggest killer of Bonsai by far is HUMIDITY )

When I wrote a letter to the Editor he challenged me so I quoted the chart,
. Noting all the rain fall an temperatures. I think that July and September at 82 % is very humid is it not, with temps at 24.4 and 22.1.

I must admit he did not take it well.
