Southern Morton Bay

I mentioned these trees in a previous thread. They are amazing trees but evn more amazing that they are growing on top of a hill at Beechworth in North East Victoria: Altitude about 500m, Winter temps down to 7 below most winters and occasional snow.
They appear to be Morton Bay figs and have been planted in the garden of a long gone house. Just a few trees left in the middle of a cow paddock. The largest tree is about 3m diameter at shoulder height. I measured the root spread at 36m across some of those buttress roots are 1m out of the ground and rise to shoulder height at the trunk.
