[Category 1] Melealuca Linariifolia

App. 12yrs.Bought this tree from a market for a bargain price cause the owner wanted it to have a good home. Potted it up in this beautiful pot a friend made me out of sandstone. Hope you like it :)

Once it settles into the pot it can be gently shaped. You could have trouble with that pot as Melaleucas like, want, demand a lot of water and I keep mine in water trays to keep them happy in the summer. My lineariifolia was always thirsty. I think you could find trouble with that pot. It would be interesting to hear what other enthusiasts' experience is with keeping Melaleuca's wet and happy.

I didn't water this morning and when I started to water the trees at 11 am the Mela Revolution Gold was wilting. The water tray level had dropped below the pot base and despite the fact the soil was still saturated the tree was not happy. It bounces back quickly but with melaleucas it is water, water, water.

i also use a water tray to keep it moist thanks anyways.

i have just wired this baby up and gave it a bit of a trim :o end of autumn she will look really nice ;) ill get a couple more pics up then.it looks really nice with a matured natural shape im proud of my accomplishments and that im growing as an artist :D
