Hi, I am just starting out again after a 10 or so year break from bonsai. Hopefully someone can ID this? I have forgotten what it is.

Thanks Shannon and dark1, that's exactly what it is, I just couldn't think of it.

what are the dimensions to this tree mate? and what do you see in this tree? an obvious look is informal upright, but how do you see it if that is the case? a full canopy? padded branches? etc.

Is there a species guide to clerodendron anywhere?
Or any tips on what I should do when?

from my experience with them, they are tough as nails, can be wired reasonably easy, i have wired and bent branches without snapping them, they seem quite flexible when youngish, so far the biggest i have bent is up to about 6mm, but i am sure using raffia or similar you could get more movement, they have a fairly hard would and are good for deadwood features.

i think rod has hit the nail on the head with the virt.
you got an eye for these things dont ya rod!
