I think it needs some work to get strength returned to the tip of the cascade, Unless you have thinned it purposely.

No, you are quite correct Asus, there is a lot of work required to restore vigor to the whole tree but in particular the tip of the cascade. Lack of feed from a slack bonsaist.

my opinion about the positioning in the pot is not what I personally like seeing, with my cascades I would never place them infront of the pot, but rather to one side or even a bit off from the direct front so it does not hide the pot. Just my thought when I saw so I thought I'd share my opinion.

Hi Jon,

I like your cascade. So much so that it reminds me of one of mine that I posted here recently. I hope you don't mind but I've put it on here for to see and perhaps get some ideas. Like Peter, I'd realy like to see some other angles.

Hesh ! You might not get a response from John (or Peter for that matter) John has quit bonsai and Peter doesnt come here anymore - you might find Peter over at Bonsai South's forum.

Interesting that you have resurrected this thread even though Jon and Peter do not participate here any more. The reason for me poking my nose in is the fact that Jon's Cascade was showing a distinct lack of health at the tip of the cascade branch.

Even though the species used is a prostrate one, it still needs to be above horizontal for vigorous growth.
What I would suggest to any one who has a cascade that has a weakened tip.
Is to water well let it drain then stand the pot on it's side so the tip is growing UP.
That way you will get the vigor back, just like the blue pill

Thanks for the heads up. I had no idea that they no longer use this forum. I commented because I liked the tree and it reminded me of the one I have.
