Gday Guys,
Lifted a large callistemon from the nature strip today...was a very big job as it went down 20cm below soil level before we were able to get under it. It has a lot of feeder roots up at soil level then nothing in the bottom part. I'm after any advice on transplanting, aftercare, etc. It the moment it is sitting with its roots in wet soil in a big pot waiting to be potted up properly tomorrow afternoon when I get home from work.

I bought a large one early Jan and had to cut most of the roots off to pot up. Took off most foliage as well as it had started to dry and go crispy.

Let it soak in Seasol solution for a few days after root work. Then have potted up into my diatomite mix. Kept under trees with filtered light.
Water daily and given drinks weekly of seasol too.
Starting to show new growth now after 4 weeks

Yes mate I have, and from what I have read that you have done, just follow what Ken has done and you should be right.
As always the after care is what gets the tree back to health so you can start work.

Well... the soil is still attached as a ring around the trunk where soil level was. This is where all of the feeder roots are. but below that there is pretty much nothing apart from trunk that was below the ground from which we severed the big anchor roots.
