This tree was brought to me by a client who moved to Melb. from Syd. She purchased the tree Ray Nesci some years ago. The bark has a stripey, violet hue about it. It could very well be an older PJ but i'm not sure. Anyways it was in a sad arse state when she brang to me to save. Oct. 2008. Here's a progression till now.
OCT 2008 after a chop and repot.

Did you use some kind of steroid on the trunk or is it a magical illusion?

nice ant, and as jerry said man that trunk has gotten thick in no time! im liking the way its going, i dont think its a tigerbark the leaf doesnt look like it and the bark is a bit off, you generally see the lines and spots of a figs bark more pronounced than that on tigerbark, so it could be PJ.

Nice work Antonio but I am sure you are doing those crossing branches just to annoy me.

Any ideas where you are going with this one Antonio? I look forward to seeing the trees progress in the future.

Bodhi, judging by the background it looks like both the plastic pot and the brown glazed oval are approx 1 brick wide, so a substantial increase in diameter appears to have been achieved from Feb 2009 to Feb 2010.

Most definitely it has grown Mojo but the Bonsai pot is smaller by about half a brick as the first piccy is on an angle. I would ask Ant to adjudicate but i am sure he wont give the secret away

well maybe not

I looked at the new leader and branches to get a idea of the growth. Growth looks pretty good

mojo, im on a tangent with sub trunks and multiple apexs at the moment so thats where im seeing this tree going with a strong push to the right.
You are right, both pots are 200mm wide, spot on! The tree had at least 300mm of compact growth above it before i chopped for styling. im guessing with a combination of top growth and bottom growth swelling the base. i gained almost half its original girth. The angles of the pics are decieving.

pretty good

i reckon the girth that has been put on in one year is amazing i reckon he must of pumped the food into this beast to go fro a 2-3mm leader to the solid trunk it is now
