hey guys, here is a QLD small leaf i have been working on, i had few ideas but havent completly decided, right now i am just going with a full canopy look, i might change things a little later down the track i am just not sure about it all yet

feel free to give me some ideas just dont have a clue right now

help guys, i dont know what to do with this one

interesting shaped trunk on this one. how wide is it

6-7 inches wide, bout 8-10 inches in height. and its about 2 inches thick from front to back.

very odd shape, hard to work with, but i will make something out of it, i am even thinking off laying it down, growing new shoots and having a turtle back sort of tree? that would be different

you could encourage aerial root front and back to round out the shape of the trunk.

Was this one of Dad's mate ??

i have thought that too, im not a big fan of airial roots coming of the trunk but it may be a neccessity for this one, i am trying to get a lot of cuttings to strike so they might be able to be placed and fuse to the trunk to help fill it out.

just to mention aswell this one is a collected tree

Your on the right track mate it's what I do ...... Strip the tree back to branches bark and roots and work my way back up the tree.

Best roots, trunk then branch structure..... Figs are very forgiving, as you would know ....

Aerial roots will come ....I find the more canope the tree has to make a micro climate with (humidity)..... the better!

cool mate thats basically what i have been trying to build is the canopy at the moment and now i have been able to wire it i think it will fill out and make better humidity like you say

what do you think of putting it down on its side and making a turtleback/raft style with it??? i think it would definatly be different ?

thanks mate i will see how this goes for now, and use that as a second option, but i think it will be the way to go and will make for a cool tree
