Hi all!

Have been experimenting with a few different techniques of late and have become fascinated with Mame sized pots.

I got a little over-zealous whilst sanding down this little guy, but thought I would continue and see how it turned out, cracked front and all.

It stands 6cm high. I attempted little feet this time and two drainage holes for wire. I'm thinking the holes are on the small side, will add more / bigger ones on the next edition.

The Hokkaido elm seedling is only in there for the shot, it is now back in its grow box.

Please let me know what you think.

is that pain or a glaze? i take it this was a cement one too mate judging by the inside being painted/glazed?

It is actually, glass paint with several clear coats of acrylic gloss sealer. This one was actually and experiment, it was 20% clay / 80% cement that I formed into the pot moments earlier, placed in a micro-wave for 2 minutes. Dried the wet clay out perfectly and almost dried the cement, but obviously not down to the core. I was handling it very roughly whilst sanding, when it was still hot from the micro-wave.

interesting technique there mate, i am surprised how it handled drying out in the microwave, although it did lose half its side, maybe if you left it for longer than it would of been ok, not sure. what dothe people that live with you think pot making pottery inside using the oven and microwave??

Shhhh!! Not so loud, my Girl friend might hear you...

Got a big bowl of paper soaking in water at the minute to try that paper pot technique. Perhaps the paper will give it more structural stability.
