Is it any good for bonsai? will the leaves reduce well? will the cutting root easily? I see a couple of huge trees on the brisbane river banks.

im not sure mate, i have never seen this cultivar before, it is very possible that it will strike well from cuttings being a fig but in saying that sometimes the different cultivars can be a little frustrating, also the same with leaf reduction it is definately quite possible yet not 100% on this as some can be hard to reduce and stay down to a workable size like ficus elastica if you can get them reduced.

its really just a matter in trying mate :D if you get some cuttings i would try and get some thicker ones as i have found them to strike better, between 1 inch and 3-4 inches i have had pretty good success with :D

Thanks jamie, I saw a couple of nice one with reduced leaves and fruits at a local backyard bonsai grower this morning but he couldn't give me and advice on cutting. I'll try some thick cuttings as suggested.
Cheers
