Hi all,
I purchased 2 new trees this afternoon,

I do not know the species but my first guess is stone pine.
I have this tree earmarked for a workshop with Hirotoshi Saitoh, but it will be great to get any styling ideas first.
This tree was growing in a bucket of rock hard soil, I slip potted it today.

The second tree (also slip potted today) is the same species, much smaller also needs styling suggestions.

Hi Ron,
It is not a good time of year to disturb the roots on pines, so it was repotted without working the roots

Thanks Jamie, both trees have long internodes and sparse growth which will make a good bunjin on tree 2 (I think) the larger tree is more difficult.
If it is a stone pine does anybody have experience as to what are the chances of back budding?

thanks Gerard
