interesting mate :D good stuff, check out antonios casuarina torulusa threads it shows what he does to these little ones to get them going. it will be a good idea for ya anyways :D twisting seedlings up like this will work really well for early on, you will have a ripper trunk in a few years.

Hi Scott,
Your cas seedlings are a great buy you will never regret that move. This is one of the most satisfying ways to get bonsai and you won't have to wait 10 years for some of them, once they really get moving these trees will develop quite quickly.
I bought 60 torulosa seedlings a few weeks ago, I dealt with the roots first then will wire them once they settle in their new pots, just another way of doing it either way works fine. Some of them will go in the ground for a few years and some will develop in pots. The best thing about growing trees in bulk lots is that there are always 1 or 2 outstanding trees and these are the ones you keep.
