i would lose that front trunk its too straight and carve it into a hollow or something

i would tell u more but my neck hurts can u rotate it and then post it hahahhah and some other angled shots of ur tree

Hi Amazonida, I would agree with Minh. It seems the best part of your tree is obscured by a very strong straight trunk. Would like to see whats behind that.

the boys are right1 the straight trunk needs to go and carve a hollow in its place. To me it looks like there is alot of movement hiding behind that straight trunk.

hummm... well, the Japanese school says that you are suppouse to choose the front of the plant by the nebari...
I'll keep you posted so i can see what you got in mind...

That is good front yes. but straight trunk no good cut off, then you have better front.

I think i got what you say, by that picures it shows the straightness of the trunk. am'i right? so i'll try to rotate it and send more pictures. Is that plant common in Australia? i saw someone asking at the forum...

I think what they are trying to say is that you have chosen a good front and that the tree appears to have multiple trunks. The trunk in the front is very straight but the ones hiding behind it have much more movement and interest so just cut the front one down and use the others to create the tree. And when you chop the straight trunk you can create a hollow as a nice feature. Is this correct guys? Does the explanation make sense?

Hi Amazonida, That is a beautiful trunkline so much better. I think the front should be selected for both the nebari and for the most interesting trunk line. Crepe myrtle are very common as garden trees here but not so often seen as bonsai.

well its up to u because i see amazing potential probably the nicest trunk and nebari ever for a crape myrtle the one in the back of course and hollowing it at the front will draw attention towards the movement of the trunkline

Okay folks, let me just take a few pictures of it for you to realize the best way. At the moment, i'm really afraid to cut off the trunk, so can anyone photoshop it? need to see if it's going to be nice before cut it!
