Hey Guys, Im having trouble sourcing Diatomite. My local supply store gets Zeolite but just shrugs it shoulders when I ask about diatomite. I know some of the country Queenslanders use it, and Im hoping to find a supplier closer to Gladstone than Brissie. Any help?
Thanks,
BB

I've sent you a PM, BB. We are in the same boat in Mackay - this is our solution.

Thanks for the responses Guys.
Ant, I tried to ask them last year if there was a supplier near me and got an abrupt NO

. Was too scared to ask any more questions.
Glenda, your PM didnt come through.

G'day buddaboy
you can buy Diatomite straight from the mine if you can organize freight. I don't have the contact details with me but will post them latter if you are interested.

boylans in bundy has bags of it for 18 bucks, otherwise i think it is a place called fernlands that will be quite happy to ship it up to you, generally need to buy in bulk for that though, but the price is good and transport isnt much

Thx jamie, I rang boylans after reading regans post, but noone there had heard of it.
Im thinking about driving down to the mine, taking a loader and filling up my ute by myself one night

. Not that I would do such a thing

Some times it is called Kleensorb in some stores. Not all places I have looked for it know it as Diatomite. Try asking for this you might get a better respond.

Kleensorb is the Brand / product name for Mt Sylvia Diatomite

Send and email to them asking for suppliers where you are, and they are very helpful. Or you can purchase from them direct if you organise cartage, or Pick up yourself
they will sell in a "bulk bag" of 500Kg, $250 or so, or Pallet of 35L bags ( 1 ton) for $600 approx.

G'DAY

Boylands Pet and Garden also stock it ,on the bag, Maidenwell is written. I use it as a straight mix for most it is good for stock you are growing on as you can really powerfeed and flush if need be. That bulk buy seemed a good price.
Cheers
