I did some digging on the weekend, came home with this radiata pine almost bare rooted.
Hopefully it will survive the shock as I see lots of possibilities.

Perhaps people could share their ideas on where the future styling might go.

Thanks Jamie, I have removed no live foliage at all just shortened some dead twigs. I expect to wait about a year before the tree is healthy enough to style

did you chop this one down in height some when collected? when you say you have removed no live foliage? a year should be good for it, if it is still looking a bit sorry for itself leave it for another year, from what i have seen they can sulk?

Thanks guys,
Jamie: I believe the main trunk was chopped 1.5 years ago to be used as a xmas tree and all the live growth is since then. The poly box is large sized (60cm or so) the base about 15-20cm and the main vertical trunk about 8 cm
Antonio: Always keen for a dig but I am not too sure about the guys I was digging with.
They were either Italian opera singers or mafia, I did not have the courage to tell them that their singing sucks

Looking good, hope she pulls through! And they aren't that scary

you should have been there when their tops came off in late spring! Now that was something!
I'm up for a dig guys! I'll make the time for a change!

I was also still drunk and didn't have access to an adequate vehicle!
Hopefully we can all get some more like the one above!
