Hi Kvan .... any handicraft shop should stock raffia.

Or you can use "Vet Tape" as described by Peter Adams at the Bonsai Summit last year
Search here for Vet tape and you will find the references

Florist has the longer length and better quality raffia. Just need to order from your local. $25 a bunch.

vet wrap should be easy accessed, obviously go to the vet and you can ask for it there, sometimes they have half rolls you can get cheaper otherwise you might find it cheaper online.
ant i would presume that with the raffia for $25 a bunch that you would get a fair bit?

odd DK, i beleive you should be able to get it at spot light, if not they have a product used for hems in sowing i beleive which will work just aswell, otherwise you can also get old bike tubes and cut them into strips which does the same job.

Our local Bunnings store has it in the handcraft isles, as well as Spotlight. It is often used for knitting and crocheting

Thanks for the info. Glenda. I've checked with my local Bunnings before but didn't see it. Will have another look again. Will also check with Spotlight too. Thanks

Just in case you are like my husband and don't already know, if you ask about it as "used for knitting and crocheting" it is pronounced crow-shay-ing - that may help you save face
