Melaleuca Bracteata Advice

G'Day everyone, happy holidays.
Recently I've picked up a young M. Bracteata (rev gold) with a beautiful tapering, slanting trunk and I was wondering if anyone had some info on them, like the quickest way to fatten the trunk (let it go wild? And if so how to develop the branches), do they back bud readily?
anyone, anyone? Pup I'm looking in your direction.

G, day Teejay.
The hybrid Golden Gem and revolution gold are almost the same. The slight difference is the new growth on revolution is red. It does not last though.
They shoot back on old wood, which is brittle so be careful when wiring.
These are one of the Melaleucas that will tolerate going past the parallel. You will have to watch it though because it will weaken in time. They tolerate hard cutting back. To thicken, planting in the ground with plenty of water!! and fertiliser. I use Miracle Gro for Azaleas for my natives I feed once per fortnight. In extreme hot weather I have put them over a water tray.Some of my friends have put them in water trays, with success. I hope this helps you. Glad to be Back

Cheers once again Pup, your knowledge has been more valuable to me (at this crucial stage in my learning) than you realise.
I think I'm getting a bug for Melaleucas so expect more questions!

Your are more than welcome Teejay. I will however be cautious, as there are well over 200 species, and I only have 16 at the moment that I know how to work .
