G, day to you all I have said this before in a post on my trip to the Mornington Peninsula Bonsai Society.

While I was there I got to visit Lorraine Simpson and see some of her pots. Which are mainly freestyle and of earthy colours. Which suit our natives, but also if you need that special rugged looking pot.

I have a semi cascade that needed a change of pot, when I was explaining it to Lorraine, I saw this one on the shelf and it was what I wanted.
Here are before and after shots in the old pot and its new one.

Remember Lorraine Simpson in the Mornington Peninsula Bonsai Society.

I think that pot is great Pup. Does Lorraine have a website ? Are you going to share any info on the tree ?

Hi pup,

That pot really does suit that tree, and the little tidy up helps as well.

Nicely done.

I love it Pup...except for the feet, i am not sure on the feet. They look a little clunky on that pot. But that is just my sentiments.

It is a Juniperus procumbens nana. not sure of its age it was given to me a few years ago, when the owner was getting out of general Bonsai, and specialising in Satsuki Azaleas.

It has been recovering from an attack of Phoma, as have all of my Procumbens. I have lost one of my oldest and best trees to it, all that is left is a small bunjingi.
It is a fungal disease which weakens the tree, which can then be attacked by insects.

Treat it with a Copper Sulphate fungicide. It shows as distorting new growth tips, much like you have cut the new growth with scissors.
