The next stage was to discover if the potting mix and feeding program had work .I was astounded at the power in these roots . The foliage growth over the last season has quadrupled , when your on a good thing stick to it.

.A quick separation of the trees and a reposition test run .The trees were potted up .To secure the trunks into there position i used a custom made trunk block out of pine to hold the bases together , then set about applying props and wires to bend and manipulate the trunks into their present positions

With the trees potted and wired i will allow about 4-6 weeks for them to settle before revisiting for a trim and style .All in all not a bad looking trainer for what i know were absolute shockers when collected .Cheers Alpine

Ggggrrrr...iiiinnnnnnnn!! I also have my method of complex guy wiring, though I seldom use things like the shade cloth strips here. My trees tend to look like they are hung with the efforts of a spider with a bad hangover. It works, however. Nonetheless, my perfectionist bonsai friends assure me that guy wiring can never replace the subtle results of 'proper' wiring.
You have done wonders with these trees, Alpine.
And may I say how very nice it is to see someone using the proper common name of "Atlas cedars", and bl..dy well NOT Atlantic cedars!! These trees have everything to do with the Atlas in the Middle East, and NOTHING with the Atlantic, even though the botanical name is "atlanticus". That too refers to the Atlas and not to the ocean.
Many thanks, Alpine.
