Hi all.....not new to this site but forgot my login so re registered

Just wanted to share some pics and a little history on some new figs I have aquired. Four of them and two more to come!

A lady in her 80's who I garden for lost her husband two years ago.....they have been together since they were 15yrs old

He was into bonsai and she is unable to look after them anymore......the fig with all the ariel roots (spec 1.1, 1.2, 1.4) she believes is over 50yrs old!!!!

I will be going to the Bonsai club next month here in Coffs Harbour for some help on re-potting and training as I am fairly new to this art but would like to do the specimens justice due to the history of them. They are very pot bound to the point where the pots are breaking.

Thats a nice acquisition you got there. With some refinement you will have some good trees.

That bearded giant must be at least 28" tall at a guess. Certainly get some knowledgeable help and advice. Its a venerable old tree which deserves the best.

Nice to be able to rescue this old trees.
They will need a little tender loving care to restore them to vigor.

its still full i hope by the time you finished admiring them it was empty

Hi Benh, Your figs look to be great material to start with but will require lots of work. i would put them in bigger pots in a very free draining mix so you can feed heavily, and get them growing strongly. Once you have achieved that then get some advice on cutting back hard and regrowing.
