I dug this elm up about a year ago and it has been going well except in the last couple of weeks the outside of some of the leaves have been going yellow and drying up, is this normal for this time of year or do I have a problem??? Also could someone tell me what type of elm it is. Thanks.

a bit hard to judge the size of the leaves in th foto, but looks like chinese elm to me
the yellowing of leaves would be expected this time of year especially in Canberra. I am surprised it has not lost them all by now

I would almost definitely say English Elm - Ulmus Procera. The leaves seem too dark and stubby to be a Chinese Elm. The leaves of a Chinese Elm are typically more elongated

Whichever Elm it is, I would be chopping one of those branches just under the foliage line come spring. TIMberrrrrrrrrrrrr..............
