where do u get your hands on all your kids?

looks like a lot of fun to watch them grow.

i've been adopting my kids on the street and park. mostly pine. can't tell what species. have around 20 atm.

Looking for Japanese maple babies to be adopted too. can't seem to find where i can pick em up. unless i buy them. i was told by a fren that he might be able to get em for like $0.50 each. but a min order of 100 unit.

Hi Dumper, I got the seeds from a variety of places such as ebay, parks, friend's gardens. I wouldnt bother getting 100 maple babies. Just buy a couple of maple starters for $7 each and take cuttings every spring. Otherwise if you buy 100 maple seedlings, you may be overwhelmed with repotting them. Takes too much time, unless you have alot of time on your hands.

I tried Japanese maple cuttings. maybe i did it wrong. never work for me.
might read more on it.

100 Japanese map not that bad. will try to fuse 3 or 4 seedling together and i have less to re potting to do .

and some for root grafting.

Dumper, Just find someone with a Japanese maple tree. Seedlings come up like hairs in the gardens nearby and they're easy to collect at that stage. Seed should be hanging on trees now too - very easy to grab a handful as you walk past one leaning over a front fence or in a park. Maybe a trip into the hills where they grow to perfection.

Dumper ya pines are most likely and look like radiatas.

Lovely little guys! Looks about time to sort them out one to a pot. I have Allocasurina verticellata seeds if you want to try starting some of those. They seem to germinate fairly easily.

Been out checkin my Maples that we planted out a few weeks ago

so far only the Japanese ones have sprouted. Still waiting on Field Maple and Trident to Shoot
