Nice tree Skip. Is it out of control a bit?
Looks like you need to get the snips out and give it a haircut :-) I would like to see a bit more light through it

Having seen this tree in the bark, it is superb. I too am curious about its origins, it is reminiscent of a tree I remember from my first ever bonsai show & the main tree responsible for my addiction :D

Great tree Chris, I think the apex is a small concern maybe more rounded with less height, also think Dayne is onto something too... a PK pot ruff and rustic, wider yet a bit more shallow, I think the colour is spot on though.
Just my opinon though and I don't even own a Banksia!!

Top tree Chris, mate I agree with Shan I would like to see the apex half the height and a tad wider. CHEERS ROD

Hi Skip,

I also agree it could go into a slightly bigger pot eventually; but I don't think Pat can do one big enough for it even the size it is now.

Very nice tree and well maintained and presented at the show.

Hi Skip, beautiful tree and it looks so healthy and well cared for. I would agree the apex could come down a little. I like the pot size and colour I would not change that.

Hi all

Thanks for the feed back.

I have had thoughts of a different pot and PK was hi on the list however the I have feeling the the texture of a PK pot would detract from the texture of the trunk. A pot with a little more width and a little less depth is a possiable change that I have been considering, trying to find one that suits is harder than you might think.
Come spring I intend to thin the top as I want to push more growth into the first branch, doing this may give me a better idea if the hight needs to be reduced.

Those of you who think its to tall can you tell me by how far you would reduce it.

Cheers
Skip
