hi mate :D

this one has a nice base, the length of the trunks though makes the tree look a little awkward, i would be cutting those trunks down by at least half or more to get back budding down low, then growing it out strongly for a bit until you have dense growth with tight internodes. i just recently posted a thread on a benji i have done. it was a clump that i tied together and fused it up. after it fused i put an airlayer on and took the top off that i was going to use. i let it grow out strongly and got lots of new growth and tight internodes. then i completly wired it all out. i will link my thread in a minute when i find it!

heres the link mate :D viewtopic.php?f=133&t=5140&p=59597&hili ... yan#p59597

great base to work with, this one will be nice!

REPOT ! Maybe in a larger but shallower pot, and wire some of the trunks to give it some movement. Maybe not dramatically, but the trunks look too upright ATM. Then I would reassess it once it has settled in and maybe have a think about cutting back trunks ? It's a bit hard to visualise while it is in that pot and so upright.

Well that's what I would do if it was given to me. It has some great potential with that mass of roots.

Hey guys I like Jamies idea , I would cut the middle trunk back about 1/3. I would the wire every thing else, for me I would remove a lot of the aerial roots. Sorry about the rough virt , it gives you some idea where to place the branches I would wait for it to warm up before you do this , when you do it I would also defoliate to encourage buds. Cheers Rod ....

Hi Corko,

I agree with Rod about the aerial roots. It looks a bit messy. About the rest of the tree the canopy is up way to high and have to come down. When I look at the second pic I would cut of the middle and the left trunk. This will give the trunk on the right some great taper. You can wire and prune this part of the tree and you will end up with a nice smaller bonsai. I'm not great with virts but maybe that understand where I'm comming from might be able to make up a virt for you.

Have fun!

Chris
