This is a plum that i collected last season , just a wild self sown green one .with a few minutes to spare i whipped into it with an angle grinder fitted with a tungsten tipped saw blade .In 10 minutes it was transformed into something of interestCheers Alpineart

Hi Antonio ,it was pouring with rain so i parked myself on the veranda and cut loose .The Cook wasn't impressed, but i cleaned up afterwards .This has a very good basel flare , be interesting to see the root ball .Cheers

Not bad for 10 minutes' work! However, at such an early stage of development, I'd be tempted to go lower and use the bottom two branches as the start of a broom-style tree. You could use the upper branching to thread-graft further branches into place.

Just a thought.

Hi Fly , good thought , but i would have to think a lot longer than 10 minutes .Got a hell of a lot of trunks to carve so im not really into final designs , but if you could vert your thoughts i might understand .Its hard to put young heads on old shoulder like mine .It was only 10 minutes {a quick hack and chop}.I know this will take off being a plum so i should take a bit more time a set it up now .Cheers and thanks for your input .Alpine

Hi Bretts , next time i get the grinder out i will hack a bit more .Into another Elm at present and i need to blend 2-3 cubic meters of Bonsai mix for repotting.No rest for the wicked .Cheers Alpine
