Hi Everyone,

Here is a photo of a few Japanese Maples that I took whilst out visiting a local nursery. I really like how they look... However they are in very deep garden pots which made me ask the question.. are they bonsai?

Thoughts? Discussion?

Bonsai or not they look great.

i would call them bonsia in training... but not to the nrsery! that would bump the price up! tell them they look a little ill and you want to rescue them!!!

they have good ramification and plenty of branche to choose from!! i would be happy with just the one if i could get it!

The first one has leaves that look like those of japanese maple. It has good base and root spread. Don't know how big it is but I would pay $150 for it.

Edit: I would tell the nursery man that he could keep the pots, just sell me the trees
