My poor Peach is so confused , it had lost all it's leaves, and now in the last two weeks has regrown them and come into flower , I guess they call it Climate Change Maybe it's because it's her 21 st birthday this year I call it a female because its a flowering plant.

thats one of the buggers of being up here james! it can cool off at times but it will always warm up or be to warm for some trees!

my celtis didnt even drop there leaves this year, one of my elms has though but it is starting to leaf out again

My Liquidambars have dropped all but two leaves each. Nothing else looks even close, even my elms.

elms are what they call semi-deciduous, they dont have to drop there leaves or go into a dormancy, some do some dont, some change colour while others dont, i have a chinese elm that has purple autumn colour, didnt expect that as they are normally yellow!

I have two chinese elms, and they haven't lost any colour at all - although one is more lime green than dark green. Sorry to hijack your thread, James. Your tree's problem can't be global warming, as since 1998 the Earth has been cooling - which is why it is now called climate change instead, and we have had several places in Australia experiencing record low tempertures

happens to me too.

one of my chinese elm that i cut to i branch is shooting out new leaves.

I have elms in Fullnew leaf here and others are almost bare! Go figure.

I have prunus about to bud burst too

My little peach has it's second flowering since Easter. Two fruit filling out and about 10 flowers. It is kept under tree shelter but get good morning sun and afternoon sun too. I'll try for a photo, but it is really a potted flowering tree without much style. I find the branches are so brittle it always breaks with wire and only clip and grow is safe.

I am finding the same thing also, my elms are just starting to change colour now but my maples are shooting new growth so much for dormancy hey. Oh well you do what you can

Yeah, and according to the BOM, at 2pm today it was 13.8 and at 4:30pm it was 11.9. This is more clear evidence the earth is cooling; time frames and trends are important. Now back on topic: I have two chinese elm cuttings from the same tree sitting next to each other on the same bench, one has lost all it's leaves and the other is bursting buds - it's really quite odd. The one that's lost it's leaves had a yellow/red/purple autumn colour while the parent tree only ever goes yellow.

I think it is a global conspiracy by the elms and other trees to confuse the hell out of the human race!

Hi Glenda, the elms are doing a great job of confusing things
My celtis went bare mid to late May. My elms & liquidambers have all lost their leaves. My mulberry's leaves are yellow but have not dropped however my bottlebrush is sending out bright pink new shoots! Me thinks that the good Lord above is having a few laughs at our ever so clever scientists.
