Trip to Sydney and a $15.50 Bargain

Post by Amanda »

My trip to Sydney to meet Lee was fantastic, greeted warmly after a few wrong turns was a relief - bloody GPS :P
Lees furkids gave me cuddles and little Arctica (Devon Rex kitty) is such a spoiled little sweetheart I almost put her in my pocket to bring home with me *gush* :D :D I picked up a couple of trees which were purchased a fortnight ago and today my budget allowed for a few extra figs.
I - the figaholic, can't resist them ;) :D
Thanks Lee for a wonderful morning, it was lovely to meet you and looking forward to seeing you again perhaps when you head up this way you can drop in for a pot of tea? :D

I also stopped off on the way back and picked up my feeBay bargain, a $15.50 gamble  listed as a potted succulent plant with a fig :? :? Not knowing much and without a clear picture I was wondering if I made the right choice however very happy that I placed that winning bid  There's a lovely little second fig in there, hard to take photos given the angle of the plantings. The succulent in the pot is easily over waist height and hefty in weight, separating the roots will be a lot of fun too

Anyways here's the photos of the feeBay bargain :)

all the jades i have tried to work with in the past have turned out, well not well.

the fig(s) are definitely the score, but the jade is nice plant no less.

Anja, Lee will be coming to the Newcastle club in August to give a talk/demo. You are welcome to turn up as a guest - the kids can come too.

Penny, I didnt know Lee would be our next demonstrator thanks for the advance notice I will make sure I dont miss the meeting.

Anja, definitely come up for this, you can also get a feel for clubs and maybe get your butt into gear & join the Central Coast club. I will help out with the kids so they dont get up to too much mischief, I think they would enjoy it as much as you would.

Hi Matt.
After the demo, Lee and a friend a coming back to my place to fight over a kiln-load of new pots similar in size to that little green one you picked up last time. I just have to gloss-fire them between now and then. Pity I don't have that wood-fired oven up and running yet isn't it, but lunch will still be good.

We will get to that oven soon enough... I have been flat out lately & it doesnt look like its going to slow any between now & november.

I will be over soon as I need some new pots especially one for a cycad I was given on sat.
