This area is down in the back corner of my yard and I'm in the midst of clearing it out , transplanting the crotons to other areas and I'm setting it up as my secluded bonsai garden. I'd love to put a pond in there but had to rip out one last year because of the toads. It will be very private and I can see myself spending a lot of time down there. My sister and her husband are making heaps of grow boxes for me and all I need are some blocks for the display shelving and copper logs for a few individual stands. Can anyone offer any suggestions or send in photos of their own areas to give me some ideas : I still haven't got a design picture in my mind yet...and being a typical ARIES I want it yesterday. I'll be like a bull at a gate and just rush in and then up the track I'll want it changed around. There is a block wall along the back and I envision this being painted in that gorgeous Chinese Red.....what do you all think?????

Hi Loretta , that a very nice area .I could imagine monkey poles at varying heights staggered through that area, low slung benches etc , then of course i would redesign it and go for something else .I continually change mine to suit the growing display and collection area's . Just never quite content ,change is a good thing .Cheers Alpine

I use some old Terracotta Sewer pipes as posts for some of my trees
I have cast as concrete top and bottom on them. They are quite heavy and thus hard to knock over, but can be moved easily if you need to

they are different heights too

Thanks guys for your comments. Maybe the best thing to do would be totally clear it of plants...paint the wall and then post some more photos . That's it.......I think I'll paint the wall tomorrow

There's no-one here to bribe over mine except a couple of sons-in-law. My brother-in-law has everything you can think of but even though he said I can borrow at any time I'd rather have my own gear. When you want to do something "now" you don't want the hassle of phoning up and then jumping in the car to go and borrow something. Then they usually need it back at the most inoportune times. So it's great to have your own gear. I FEEL SO MACHO

That's really nice Chris, I would love to include water like that but we have such a problem with toads. Maybe I could have water high up off the ground You've got me thinking

Hi Loretta, I would leave some of the low growing plants (not crotons they might be a bit distracting) and put the bonsai on posts in amongst them.
