collected Chaenomeles japonica clump

I dug a clump of dwarf flowering quince (Chaenomeles japonica) winter 2009 (sorry no pics), the clump was approx 45 x 60cm at the base. While it soaked in a tub of water for a couple days I played around with ideas in my head. In the end I decided to split the clump into more managable pieces.
Out came the axe and stand back pregnant women & small children.. there were bits flying everywhere
I have no idea how many pieces I got from the clump (never counted). They were all planted back in the ground for a year, with excellent growth from all of them 
and more than a few new suckers on them too 
I recently dug and worked them all over. Gave some away, replanted a couple and potted up over 20 to play around with. This is the pic of the first batch as they came out of the ground. The one on the righthand end is my fave and I think it will work into a really nice tree with a few years of controlled growth. Matt
