Ficus Celebense

At Bonsai By the Harbour a few weeks ago, I won this tree in the raffle and the tag says Ficus Celebense.
It is about 500mm tall and maybe 75-100 mm across the base of the trunk.

It was severly pot bound, and as we are have some really warm weather here, and my yard is well sheltered I decided to repot to see what we had.

Cut the roots back hard to untangle the mess, and had a good look around the top and decided i will layer the top off later in the year and work with it as a separate tree, The bottom can be developed as a Broom style maybe?

Anyone know anything about them?

Ken

Nice potential from one tree

Lots of confusing information on the species- could only find information on Ficus celebensis.

Maybe Jerry can give us some information on this one.

Nice project. Keep us updated.

Thanks for the comments

The taper and movement was why I wanted to take off the layer, Hope it works like I plan it to :-)

Lennard there is a bit off discussion going on here and Ash from QLD suggests it might be Ficus brachypoda
I will take some cuttings and send to him to identify if he can :-)

We will see :-)
