gday matt :D

mate, its a fig, they are pretty tough, I keep mine in a diatomite/commercial bonsai mix at least a 80% diat. to 20% CBM. keep them well fed, well watered and you should be good. if you could get us a picture to see the tree we can then help with more detailed information.

cheers mate :D figs are great trees to work with, I love em!

Just about any mix + water + ferts = happy fig. :)
I have several on rocks in water, with trunks submerged, totally submerged with just the leaves floating on the water level. Some in normal potting mix, pure sand, sand and scoria also. All seem to be doing well.

Figs are hardy and are very forgiving. Good luck! :D

Finally got a new camera today.. Would love your opinion on this Port Jackson and some tips on styling would be warmly appreciated. As it was in the nursery it was some what neglected and had damaged and diseased leaves. I have removed all of these but am not sure whether I should just go for a total defoliation to reduce the leaf size. Some of the leaves were yellow and others had white pin dots on them...Do these ring familiar to anyone..if so what causes them and the cure..is it 3% lime sulphur mix.. Also not sure about the root at the rear of the tree that tends to come towards you...should i remove this or leave it grow.. are there any special tips for fattening up the trunk and where it has been chopped off at the top I am not to sure where to go from thre. Do i go up with a leader branch, etc?
Lots of questions I know...hope the pics help this time..

Thanks Everyone
Regards
Matt
