Andrew Ward – Saturday and Sunday 2-3 pm
Andrew has been imported from the Bonsai Society of South Australia. Andrew brought a sound horticultural background when he moved into bonsai. Andrew is well travelled in Australia and overseas checking out bonsai wherever he goes. At home he reads and researches extensively to keep up on world trends and styles in bonsai and this and his hands on experience combine to make him a fascinating demonstrator. His favourite species is ficus but he also works extensively with olives, ash and junipers.
Dennis Barton - Saturday 11 am Dennis hails from Sydney and has been doing bonsai for decades. His down to earth, humorous approach makes understanding easy and he is an entertaining and educational demonstrator
Ian Glew - Sunday 11 am Ian has been heavily involved in bonsai for years and is a member of the Queensland Bonsai Society as well as being a committee member of the AABC and Bonsai Clubs International. He has a wealth of experience and a good eye for styling.
Pat Kennedy – Saturday and Sunday 1-2 pm Pat, whiz of Mirkwood Forest Bonsai Pottery will be demonstrating how he makes his pots with his wheel in motion. As well as insights into pot construction he will have a good selection of the latest batch of Mirkwood pots on sale. Get there early while there's still a selection!! Pat's pots go quickly.

The Bonsai Society of Australia puts on one of the finest shows in the Sydney region and it is well worth attending.

Show him you 5-sided pot, Matt. Pat uses BRT for a lot of his pots and would be interested to see yours.

G'day,

I dropped into the BSA show this morning and snapped a few pictures on my phone to share with you all...

As usual it is a great display and the time put into setting it all up was more than evident. Unfortunately I wont able to be there for any of the demo's but I look forward to hearing about them. Dennis Barton, Andrew Ward, Ian Glew and Pat Kennedy will definitely entertain and educate. See here for session times.

There was a nicely stocked sales area full of pots, tools, books and trees but you had better get in quick if you want to secure something ;) I picked up a lovely Callistemon!

the Koreshoff display is definately different too, is that styrofoam boxes that are being used as the stands? love some of the drawings on them!

Great bonsai on display. Thats for uploading your pics, my camera is in repair and didnt want to upload phone pics.(no joke the repairer called me and said it was ready as we were walking into the show  )

Tho i am very annoyyyyed that ther were no Pat K pots for sale on Friday, It did say get in early as these pots sell (yes we know) , It does state the show will be running Fri, Sat and Sunday.

Anyway i picked up a sweet Juni for $60, will get pics of it later.

I am determined to get a PK pot for my liquid amber so i am going to drive all the way back and stuff my planes for today

Jamie: "is that styrofoam boxes that are being used as the stands?" .. yes they are, its a good idea , kinda like street at bonsai style.

Well while the wife gets her hair done I think I will sneek into the show only an hour drive and now that I am allowed to drive short distances this is a perfect excuse to get out of the house.
I'll be the one wearing the back brace. :P

Today was the best $4 I've spent in months, Sydney folk dont miss it tomorrow if you haven't been yet.
The Hawkesbury Harvest was pretty nice too for brekky, pity it's not there tomorrow.
