I have added an PDF file showing a raft I am attempting. Has anyone tried an olive cutting of this size?

Interesting to see if it works
Nothing to lose, and plenty to gain :-)

You could have cut it in half with a chainsaw and had two opposite rafts! :D interested to see if this works!

Thanks everyone for your comments. Jarrod, I have seen that done with rafts. I didn't think of it at the time. Ah well there's always another time. :P

Hi all,
I thought it was time for an update on what happened to the raft.

I have cut the trunks several times and this is the new growth at the moment. I have wired many of the trunks to start and get them going in the direction I want.

Still lots to do but the project has worked so far. Looking at the first pictures and the growth now is very encouraging.

Regards Ray

That is encouraging growth, looks like a start to a real interesting raft. Never would have thought of that myself, but I'm glad to see it works. Now to find a suitable cutting for my own project . . .
