Hey Brett,

Nice haul of olives you got there. #1 is the bomb.. that will be a fantastic turtle back group in no time. Look forward to its progression in your care. If you ever decide to move it on let me know I would happily take it off your hands...

Matt

Glad you like them Guys! I think they are pretty good :D . It seems interesting of the small variations from different areas. These seem to like having a few trunks which makes a nice wide base and they also seem to have decent surface roots. I think I should make sure I have a chainsaw handy next time I repott the two big ones. Don't think it is detrimental at the moment but it would be good to at least have the option of a very shallow pot for the turtle back in the future.
Not sure it will matter on the big one as I would think it needs a deep pot for the heavy trunk!

Hey Matt if I find a better turtle back I will sell you this one. I am starting to think a chain saw might be a good idea for fathers day as I will need one if I keep collecting these.
I thought you where going to say beef jerky Michael I will take that any day over Cake. :D Be a nice chunky beef jerky ;)

The turtle is pretty cool I love the way the back i picked leans out more than the front which is generally bigger trunks. Will make a great workshop tree in a couple of years :D
The other big one has some hard first decisions to make with a long road ahead but it does seem worth the effort :D

You are obviously not put off by hard work Brett!!!
A hand saw with a stump like that is the stupid type of thing I'd try mate. And no I dont have a chain saw either. :(
Nice material, might have to keep my eyes open if travelling through your area anytime in the future.

Beef jerky will do me!! I've been making my own for years! Finally found a recipe I can eat all day! Dash of chilli sauce(I put a lot though), slop of sweet and sour, splash of soya sauce, a lil' brown sugar, salt/pepper, a lil' water to thin it and marinate for 24 hours. Oven dry on the lowest temp with door agar for 8 hours. Mmmmm jerky! Damn you bretts now I need to go to the shops for beef. Beats any store bought crud and is cheap as chips to make! Lasts for 3 weeks in an airtight bag with moisture absorber(couple of paper handy towels which you change once a week) in fridge or up to 3 years in an air tight container out of the fridge. I keep mine in fridge. :)
