G,day Craig, when mrs Pup and I were in the UK last year in Surrey we went down to the coast passing though some beautiful country lanes covered by this Rhodendron.

When we got back to Peters place we asked about them, and we were told they have become a noxious weed pest in the south of the UK,which is a pity.

I will go though my files to see if we have some pics I am sure Mrs Pup took some with her camera.

Looks nice in your garden, as dose the Magnolia.

Cheers :) Pup

G'day Pup, I know rhodo ponticum is weed in the UK its the one they used to use for understock in the days when all rhodos were grafted. The one in my garden I have seen used as street trees in NZ they grow into reasonable sized trees. The magnolia is very special there are 3 of them on my road mine is always the first to flower the others are further up the hill and come out later. All the locals wait for them to flower as the first evidence of spring.
