Yeah as dead as that xD. Im aquascaping a 2 ft cube and I wanted to find a tree stump or something similar and grow a moss covering and go a "tree" look but after much searching and no look I thought you know where I can find small trees? A Bonsai society (Sorry for the gross understatement of the talent here but thats what I thought to Start off

).
Do many Bonsai die? Like often? And whats the actually wood like? Is it mostly bark or just a very thin layer of it? Sorry for all the questions but the only bonsai I have seen are in photographs or these "bonsai" if you call them that at bunnings. And what does carve it and use it for your alive ones mean? Does that mean that dead bonsai are generally re used?

A bonsai is just like any other tree, but Pruned to keep it small
Bark and flowers are the same size as normal
We in the know, call a Dead Bonsai a "Finished One"
Every other Bonsai is still a work in Progress
Actually I do have one here at the moment

About 6 inches tall and 1" trunk
Dunno where you are from, but I am Sydney West

Hey Josh,
I am also in newcastle & sure I can find something round the place for you, if not have access to lots of natural material...
How big, style etc etc? Used to keep fish myself & always loved cube tanks, they are more fun scaping.

Hey matt Thats awesome. What type of tree Isnt really that big of deal just branchy sorry Im really not up with the lingo of Bonsai and preferably a hard wood because all the bark and soft woods decompose really quickly in water. I would just like to say this is a great forum you have here. So friendly so I have been browsing into all the different categories here and there is so much knowledge and everyone is so willing to share.
Thanks again everyone
