Been playing with the clay again & thought I would share the results. They are a bit rough but am slowly learning what I can & cant do with the material.

The largest is 8cm long & smallest 2.5cm. Lets hope they survive getting past the dogs & then firing.

And this one that a mate made just mucking about. Thats a 20cent piece behind it.

No idea as to what I will glaze them with yet, am hoping Penny will share some more of her knowledge on that front.

Wow!
Matt, nobody would believe that this is only your second attempt at making pots. You must have an excellent teacher! very well done.
As to glazing them, you don't listen to me anyway but there are lots more choices than pots (so far).
Penny.

Very nice Matt, I like the feet you have done on your pots. I have only been to pottery classes twice now, but next pot I make I will ask how to do those feet. Very nice job. :)

I do listen just let you think I am not.... And excellent doesnt go far enough to describe my teacher/mentor.

Your not wrong about more glazes than pots but that wont take long to change

The larger 3 are slab made, the smallest of them had its feet carved out of the slab. The smallest 2 are carved from a solid lump of leather hard clay. Just experimenting with what can be done and how to achieve some of the goals I have set myself with the pot making. Take on board everything you can at your pottery classes then throw half of it out the window & do your own thing... bit like learning the 'rules' of bonsai, once you know them and have applied them a few times you throw them out along with the trees you used them on.

This lot are still very rough but with time & lots more practice I might get to making a half decent pot.
