G-day to everyone.
I would be interested in getting some feedback on what you think of the finishes on a few pots.
This first batch of photos shows a set of four pots made from a brown firing stoneware clay body. Each pot has been finished with the same reticulated glaze. The rim of each pot has been finished with a different, darker colored, complimentary glaze.

What do you think of these glaze combination's?
Cheers,
Paul

They complement each other beautifully. I would try to blend the colors a bit more where they meet but that is just me. They are beautiful pots!
cheers,
DK
Ps. I like the legs of these pots. Would be much appreciated if you could share how you made them.

I think they are excellent. I particularly like the first and third one - but I sure wouldn't say no to any of them.

Great pots the textures work well along with the blends of colours and the natural glaze/patina is what brings it together.
I collect fine pots waiting for a tree that is worthy & they would be high on my wish list.
Great Work

waiting in anticipation for the next lot.
Cheers
Chris

I like the third one, the others are not for me though everyone else would disagree!

Hey Paul,
They are all beautiful pots and I would love to see some of my own come out like they have.
Personally I really like the first two, the silver line is beautiful. I can see a big fat old fig sitting dangling its roots everywhere. And a craggy twisted old cedar in the secondl.
What size are they?
Matt
Btw many thanks for your post on constructing pots. I intend to try a few larger slab pots soon but at the moment am enjoying carving or hand shaping mame pots

I like the 3rd pot for color and texture, the the 4th for shape and balance.
Were these gas fired?

kvan64,
I appreciate you taking the time to give me some feedback on this set of pots. However, I am not clear on what you mean by "...blending the colors a bit more where the meet..." Could you please elaborate a bit.

These pots are all round and thrown on a potters wheel. I leave extra clay in the bottoms of my wheel thrown pots for the feet. When the pots reach the leather hard stage they are returned to the wheel and a foot ring is trimmed into the bottom of each pot. From this point, the foot pattern is laid out and the empty spaces between the feet are carved out and finished.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Paul

miyaiman,
Thanks for taking the time to comment on these pots.
They are all round and the first pot (259-145-10) measures approximately - 15.3 x 5.3 cm.
The second pot (259-170-10) measures approximately - 13.3 x 3 cm.
The third pot (259-167-10) measures approximately - 11.5 x 4 cm.
The forth pot (259-146-10) measures approximately - 13.8 x 5 cm.
Cheers,
Paul
